One-Shot Wonders 2: Over 100 NEW Adventures for DnD 5E

Amazing news! One-Shot Wonders: Volume 2 has officially gone to print!!

And that's not the only thing! We've also finished creative work on all these other products and sent files to the printer:

• The Map Library: Expansion Pack!
• One-Shot Wonders: Holiday Adventure Pack!
• Quest Mega Deck!
• Pre-Generated Character Pack!

It's been a ton of work getting everything ready, and it's so satisfying to see all these add-ons come together. I can't wait to use them in my own games, and I know you're going to love them, too.

Also, shout out to our Lead Illustrator Toby Fox for that incredible Deva image on the left, it's from the (very challenging) Tests of Faith adventure on pp 132–133. That's a high-level adventure. You have been warned.

Production stage

We're now entering a month or so of production approvals where we'll receive digital and physical samples from the printers for review and refinement. This lets us make sure everything is exactly how we want it before the printer starts making the final products. So far, we've had early samples of the Game Master's Screen, which is looking awesommee. Mat Wilma's fantasy artwork scene really pops.

Here's a reminder of our estimated fulfilment dates. Sending the files to print now means we're still firmly on track to fulfil your rewards in the autumn.

In fact...

We're RUNNING AHEAD! It looks like we'll be able to fulfil digital rewards a month early in September! I'll keep you posted as the time draws near. The printer still has plenty of production and shipping logistics to finalise, so we won't be bringing forward the November date for physical fulfilment.

Any other news?

We took a side quest to UK Games Expo last week, bringing the Roll & Play tavern to Birmingham (UK) for the first time. Its always great to meet and hang out with the community. If you stopped by the tavern, thanks so much. And a special thanks to the awesome volunteers who ran one-shots on the stand. Next stop, Gen Con!

Creative Progress and Sneak Peek

Hey everyone!

Like a canary in a mine cart, we are racing towards the final stages of creative work on One-Shot Wonders: Volume 2. Today's update has your regular timeline check-in, plus a few sneak peeks of the book coming together (it's looking really good).

Creative progress

We've officially FINISHED writing all the one-shot adventures!!

So, we're now deep in the process of editing, testing and polishing the adventures. The incredible Toby Fox, Zeljka Dobras and Venatus Maps are working on the final illustrations and the book will be ready for proofreading soon.

There's so many awesome adventures in this book, I can't wait to hear which one you play first. Here's a glimpse of some of my favourite work-in-progress spreads:

Any other news?

We received samples from the printer of the double-sided bookmarks, which look fantastic (photos below)! Next up, we should get samples of the GM screen any day now. I'll share photos when we have them.

Playtest Coming Soon

We've got an adventure in the book that uses interesting mechanics that act like a game of chess. We're keen to get some feedback on this adventure, since we've got a small window of time to tweak the mechanics if it's not quite working. If you'd like to take part, make sure you've joined our Discord server (click here). More information coming soon.

Wave 1 Digital Fulfilment COMPLETE

This week we've ticked off another milestone in our project timeline. On Monday, we sent out existing Roll & Play Press digital books and add-ons to backers who had selected these rewards!

What was fulfilled?

In this first wave, we fulfilled digital versions of any existing Roll & Play Press products available in the pledge manager. This includes digital copies of One-Shot Wonders: Volume 1, the Map Library Core Box, and the Roll & Play Press Fantasy Toolkits.

When is One-Shot Wonders: Volume 2 and the other rewards from this campaign being fulfilled?

The digital edition of One-Shot Wonders: Volume 2, The Map Library Expansion Pack and other new digital rewards from this campaign will be delivered in October 2026.

How do I download my rewards?

Download links were sent to backers in an email from Roll & Play Press via SendGrid. All you need to do is click on the item link, and the download will start straight away. 

Website access

You can also access your digital items through your rollandplaypress.com account. If you already have an account, head to the website and click on the My Account icon (it's the one shaped like a person). Log in, then click on the order you would like to download items from. Inside the order, click on any of the links, and your files will begin downloading.

If you don't have an account on our website, sign up using the email address you used to back this Kickstarter campaign, then follow the steps above. Your digital downloads will be waiting for you.

Any other news?

We're making good progress on all the new One-Shot Wonders: Volume 2 content. Here's some highlights: 

• The Bookmarks and GM Screen have gone into production. The files are with the printer, so now we can start the process of reviewing and refining samples.
• Art and stats for the 12 Pre-Generated Characters are being finalised (take a sneak peek at the Sorcerer below!)
• The final batch of one-shots are being briefed and written.

This month, we also welcomed Toby Fox as an official member of the Roll & Play Press team as our Lead Illustrator! Toby illustrated the cover of One-Shot Wonders: Volume 2, as well as interior art for this project and No Place Like Homebrew. We're super excited to have him with us full-time, working with all our other amazing freelance artists to bring the books to life.

Locking Orders and Charging Cards

Hey, I'm here to pin an important notice on the One-Shot Wonders 2 quest board!

Next week is a big milestone on our project timeline – Locking Orders and Charging Cards. Please give this update a read to check you're all set.

Locking Orders

We’re locking orders for this project on Monday 9th February at 15:00 GMT. That means you only have a couple of days left to edit your pledge rewards or throw in extra add-ons. If you need a quick link to your pledge manager, CLICK HERE.

If you fill out your pledge manager after the deadline, you could miss out on campaign-exclusive products and might receive your items later than other backers. 91% of backers have filled in their pledge manager so far, thank you!

Why are we locking orders now?

Some items like our pins and dice have a longer manufacturing time than others. That means we need to confirm numbers and start making those now. It also means we can digitally fulfil add-ons of existing products (like One-Shot Wonders: Vol 1 and the Map Library: Core Box) asap.

Charging Cards

We’ll be charging cards on Thursday 12th February. You will only be charged for shipping and any items you added in the pledge manager.

If there are problems with taking payment, BackerKit will notify you and then try again a couple of days later. The most common issue that comes up is expired card details, so now’s a good time to check your saved card is up-to-date. 

(If you paid via PayPal, payment was taken immediately after you completed your pledge manager, so you won’t be charged again.)

Locking Addresses

Even though your choice of rewards will be locked soon, you can still change your address. So, if you’re moving soon, don't worry. We’ll let you know when we’re ready to lock addresses, likely in August/September.

Creative Update

There's so much exciting progress being made on this project at the moment, so I'll just share a couple of brief highlights and then get right back to it!

• New adventures are being written and finalised every week, along with the art that brings them to life. We're really taking everything we learned from making One-Shot Wonders: Vol 1 and dialling it up to eleven on this book. I'm so happy with how it's shaping up.
• Rewards like the Quest Mega-Deck and Pre-Generated Character booklets are well underway. These are going to be SUCH handy tools to have in your back pocket when you want to play a game at short notice.
• Sketching new map concepts for Venatus Maps to work their magic on. He turns our napkin sketches into works of art.

New Year, New Update!

Happy New Year, everyone! I hope you all had a great holiday season, and found time to play a few festive TTRPGs. 

The Roll & Play Press team took some time off to rest and recharge ahead of another exciting year. Now we're all back at our desks, I wanted to kick off 2026 with a few updates from behind the scenes!

D&D Beyond: Holiday Adventure Pack

Back in December, the Holiday Adventure Pack rolled out on D&D Beyond. I loved reading all your character ideas, and how your games played out, thanks for sharing! And thanks for teaching me how to min/max a snowman.

If you used the Holiday Adventure Pack over the holidays, but haven't reached out yet, drop me a comment! I always enjoy hearing from other GMs.

A small group of backers ran into issues with their codes when they were rolled out, but those are all now fully resolved. If you are having any trouble accessing the adventures on D&D Beyond, please do email us, and we'll sort it for you.

Creative Progress

Creative work is in full swing. We have tons of adventures being written and edited, and artwork being created. Seeing everything coming together is always one of my favourite phases of a project. It's super satisfying seeing the book grow week by week.

Here's a look at some of the latest art we've received from Toby and Željka, who are continuing to absolutely nail the briefs.

Production Update 

Things are moving along nicely on the production side, too. The enamel pins and dice are due to head into production soon. I'm super happy with how the pin samples are looking, so I wanted to share a sneak peek with you. LOOK AT THEIR FACES!
